Request for Duplicate GCE Result Slip / Certificate. After publication of GCE results, a period of 6 months will be observed for the GCE Certificates to be available at GCE centers. In this article is presented relevant information on the certificates and slips issued by the Cameroon General Certificate of Education.
Inquiries upon results
The marking of examination papers by the GCE Board or its examiners is considered final and binding on candidates. The same applies to the GCE results and as such the Board is not compelled to go into correspondence with candidates or their guardians or parents regarding GCE results. In its absolute discretion, the Board may however do so for exceptional reasons.
All inquiries or requests regarding the GCE results of a candidate must first be addressed to the corresponding Chief of Center. An application for a review of a candidate’s scripts may be addressed to the GCE Board only when the candidate’s anticipated performance widely differs from the examination performance made public during the release of the GCE Results. In such a case, the comparison is a factor of the course work assessment given by the teacher during that academic year. The details pertaining to the procedure for such inquiries and the range of fees applicable may be obtained directly from the GCE Board.
GCE Certificates / GCE Results Slips
After publication of GCE results, a period of 6 months will be observed for the GCE Certificates to be available at GCE centers. However, GCE results slips are put at the disposal of candidates a few days after the release of results.
Candidates are advised to withdraw their certificates in the academic year following the year of examination. Failure to do so will lead to a return of the certificates to the Board. Returned certificates can be collected by candidates, their parents or guardians upon presentation of a valid identification paper. However, a fee shall be paid to the Board for the withdrawal of the certificate.
Duplicate GCE Certificates / Duplicate GCE Results Slips
Candidates who lose their certificate and wish to obtain a duplicate will have to do so directly at the Board. They may either refer to the headquarters of the Board in Buea or at the Northwest regional office in Bamenda.
The first step for a duplicate certificate is the presentation of a satisfactory evidence of the candidate’s identity. When the evidence provided satisfies the GCE Board, a minimum period of two working days must elapse for the duplicate certificate / results slip to be made available.
All applications for a duplicate certificate or result slip must be addressed to the Registrar of the Board. The following documents shall accompany such applications;
A certificate of Loss signed and issued by the police or any other competent authority.
A lump sum duplicate certificate / results slip fee as fixed by the GCE Board Council.
